That and Vibractrance have been rocking my world this past couple weeks. Nice, you have Vibractance? It's really difficult to get this album... (I know it's also available from Itunes but so far I still prefer physical purchases). What's it like? I heard many good things about it. Concerning Akitas drumming efforts... I think the drums will stay the main focus for the rest of the Japanese Birds series. After that... who knows. In the recent musique machine interview, Akita mentioned working on some new electro-acoustic inspired material, so maybe he'll go into a new musical direction once the japanese birds series is finished. We'll see... I mean, I like his recent drum recordings and regularly listen to Kujakubato and Uzura. Still, I guess one would derive more pleasure from his drumming work if Akita would vary more often between drum and non-drum works (similar to what he did on "Don't steal my Goat").

I heard many good things about it. Well, in my opinion it is excellent. Vibrating Sand, in particular, is like nothing else has done. In my opinion at least. Quite a short album too, but it works. I would recommend downloading it to check out until a copy becomes available, because it is worth hearing!

Are the tracks on this release related to the Hummingbird track on Merzzow, or are these different tracks?

Are the tracks on this release related to the Hummingbird track on Merzzow, or are these different tracks? They may be related in some way, but they are different tracks. Yesterday arrived A Taste Of...Merzbow, digipak verson. Had the jewel case for a good while, but the collector in me crept in...

I love everything about "A taste of" excellent CD and utterly brilliant design work. It is a classic.

I love everything about "A taste of" excellent CD and utterly brilliant design work. It is a classic. Yes, I've always enjoyed it too. I saw the digi version on eBay, threw a bid on not expecting to win it, and a few days later turned out I did! Ended up paying just over £10 for it, so wasn't bad at all.

If you look inside of the cardboard sleeve you'll see that it's also been printed inside in very faint pink.
