Thanks for the new links... I'm now aware of another bunch (should I have said "slew" instead?:-) of tunes for a Masada third book!! The excerpt from Baptista's Caym was appealing and convincing, I think I'll go for it soon.
I wish I'd seen Secret Chiefs 3 too... the Ben Goldberg trio was the weakest point of the Milan Marathon performance I attended. SC3 would have been livelier. Enjoy the Marathon!

Thank you Sarah, really a cool link. It was nice to find "our prayer" from Beach Boys' Smile album (whose original 1967 sessions will be hopefully released this year by Capitol) as well as Burt Kaempfert (the writer of "strangers on the night") and other classical oddities.

Hi, here are the two podcasts as zip files on rapidshare's servers: Part 1: rapidshare.com/files/3461720646/FatCat_Podcast__41_-_John_Zorn__1.zipPart 2: rapidshare.com/files/921127563/FatCat_Podcast__41_-_John_Zorn__2.zipI enjoyed them very much as there are a lot of Zorn champs such as Ellington & Strayhorn, Albert King, Frank Sinatra, Alexander Scriabin, Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone, Brian Wilson, Jimmy Giuffre, Bert Kaempfert among others, plus a bunch of guys I really didn't know who they were/are. Lounge music and grindcore can go together... well, at times:-)
