Hey I'm going the be there too! ;D Should be an interesting evening indeed, we should definitely do dinner & visit the record store if we have time. I'm not going all the way to 2nd St. without stopping by DMG on the way to the Stone... Only about 5 blocks apart.

Hey PappaWas! Glad to find this Zorn Forum. Have you been to The Stone yet? I would like to this fall/winter. Well, Robin and I have made plans to go to the Stone on Halloween... should be a blast ;D

I got my order from DMG today: The Rain Horse, Masada Rock, and Tim Sparks' At the Rebbe's Table.
Just put The Rain Horse on, so far I'm loving it.

I saw the Dreamers on the release list for Feb... I wonder when Lucifer is coming out. I'm so excited about Volumes 9 & 10 both, I can't wait...

I've been picking up the Masada studio albums at DMG, not too expensive there ($17).
I saw some of them in the used bin of my local store recently, I already had them but maybe I should pick them up and send them to some forumers - I didn't know they were so hard to get.

I think the official release date for Filmworks 19 is Jan 22nd in the U.S. - it might be Jan 21 in other countries, I seem to remember some places release CDs on Mondays.
I just ordered mine from DMG...

... by which time John Zorn has released two new albums, and you have to start all over.

I asked at my local store and (although it took two people to figure it out ) they said they had the release date as November 6. They are usually pretty useless at getting Tzadik stuff though... not sure how good their info would be. And my friend who owns a record store hasn't heard a thing... oh well. Maybe I will put it on my Chanukah list and my poor mother will have to track it down instead.

Anyone heard anything about a new release date for Xaphan? I've been waiting so eagerly and it seems to be postponed... Amazon had it as being released today and this morning it's showing up as shipping in 4-6 weeks...

If it makes you feel better I often wished I lived in Europe or NYC for the concerts :-) Boston/Cambridge isn't such a great music scene for my taste...

I buy pretty much all of mine from Downtown Music Gallery. My local store is pretty hopeless, and if I'm going to buy online, I'd rather support DMG than Amazon.com or some other site. (I also try to stop by whenever I'm in NYC, which is once every month or two).
Paying $34 for a new disc is crazy! I think I paid $14 for Volac...

The 2 Foot Yard CD turned out to be OK, I didn't love it - wasn't as good as the other three I ordered, for sure... (although that is pretty tough competition!) I only listened to it once so far, I've been too busy to be listening to lots of music Just picked up the new Book of Angels CD "Volac" with Erik Friedlander yesterday... listened to a few tracks so far, I like what I've heard.
