Hi Holger - nice to see you here ;D Wish I could make it to Paris. I don't think that I will be given a ticket to Europe for my birthday again next year... Rome was a one-shot deal!
That last link isn't working, btw (the erjn.it one).

Yeah, the show tonight was excellent - and my parents really liked it! My dad said Cyro Baptista was his favorite band member (and he wanted to know why Joey Baron is so happy all the time - I did not have an answer except "he's always like that"). My mom said her favorite part was watching John Zorn conducting and said he was "amazing to watch." Definitely a success. I might have to get them a BK CD for a Chanukah present....
I really liked a lot of the new pieces. Can't wait for the album!

I barely got to the show last night - got there just after 8PM... by some miracle there were a couple of empty seats in the center of the front row when I got there even though it looked to be just about sold out. Talk about good luck! The show was really good, a little more guitar distortion/noise than I'm used to hearing from BK. Crowd was very enthusiastic, the band seemed to be in a good mood. For an encore they played a couple of new pieces - the first one I thought was just fantastic, the second one I found a little odd... not bad, but odd.
Much as I love it I'm kind of hoping they keep the noise to a minimum tonight as I decided to take them at their word on "delightful and extraordinary music for the whole family" and I am bringing my parents to the show... should be interesting ;-)

www.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/209I can't get a direct link to the show to work for some reason. This is the calendar, go to December and you'll see them.

I like the live 50th birthday set better than the album too - I guess we'll have to see how another studio album shakes out after a few more years of performing together as a group I'm going to have to convince my mom that we need to have Chanukah in NY this year... and that I'll be going to a concert... hmm.

I keep hoping for a Book of Angels release for Bar Kokhba, since I love the band and it's been such a great series so far... and I just found this concert listing at the Abrons Arts Center in December:
I just might have to head down to NYC that weekend... ;D

I think with the relative value of the dollar and the GBP, you buying the flight in GBP is about the same cost as me buying dinner in NYC in USD... :-(

Cmon girls, no need to rub it in our faces that you are both going! Unless of course you take us all with you? Tell you what... if you fly over for the concert, I will buy you dinner and a ticket to the show, my treat ;D
