I like that CD. Have you had any dealings with Ron who runs RRR records in the US. Great for a good selection of noise. He's the face behind Emil Beaulieu.

I would guess that most of you guys already have it but I finally got myself Kenio Line by (the unfortunately named) Richard Pinhas and Merzbow. Wow what a bloody brilliant and totally different piece of work. I am liking this a lot, it reminds me very much of Emeralds.

I can guarantee that it will be nothing like you've ever heard from Merzbow before. It's very mellow, you can easily loose yourself in it. I love.

Yes! Keio Line was great, definitely one of my favourite CD's in 2008. So soothing and relaxing... Also sounds really different to the other Merz stuff released in 08, very ambient-like.
It really is an addicting record. Maybe I should check out Emeralds. Their recent disc on No Fun Productions is supposed to be really good.

I saw Emeralds this year on their tour with Painjerk. Both acts were excellent, but total contrasts. Someone had a mean sense of humour to put those two on the same setlist.

Yeah, Karasu arrived a few days ago. After one listen, I feel it is the strongest of the series so far, along with Fukurou.

"Japanese Birds 6: Kamo" arrived today. The name of the first track is ... very subtle.

Don't Steal My Goat arrived a couple days ago.
This is a very enjoyable album. Flows really well, and is total Merzbow.
DSMG Part 1 begins ridiculously LOUD. It is your standard noise / drums affair, a few low bass samples, starts off quite analogue sounding, but as it develops it finds its own groove.
Part 2 is the curveball of the album, keeping in with other recent releases. This is a great piece, no drums. Lots of cool samples, including one in the opening few minutes that'll need your ear, Pozniak. Sounds like a train whistle sample or something! The samples and noise create their own rhythm on this one.
Part 3 the drums are back, but this is less jolly than Part 1, noise wise. Possibly the most uninspiring of the four tracks, but hypnotizing nonetheless.
Part 4 ( Don #2 ) is brilliant. No drums again, I'm thinking the "Don" reference is to Dynamite Don Don from Pornoise, but I am yet to A/B this track with Pornoise.
You think you will all love this one, a very solid, flowing and enjoyable album. Worth getting!
Kamo arrived today. I have listened once, and my first listen didn't blow my mind. I certainly wasn't as impressed as I was with DSMG. More listens required though, obviously.
