Apart from the excellent Merzbow Yahoo! Group, there doesnt seem to be many places to discuss Mezbow! Hence, me starting this. Now. Right now. So, lets discuss.
My Merzbow collection so far stands at 55. I know thats fuck all compared to some, but....

Yes!!! A Merzbow discussion that actually works!!! (I had all kinds of problems with the yahoo one, and some of my posts never got posted. Sorry, but that's what happened. Total frustration.)
Thanks for starting this. Give it some time. We need this! It will grow.
I have about 80 discs, incl The Merzbox. Merzbow is my favourite sonic artist. I don't call it "noise". It's "sound".

I have 2 Merzbow albums. Frog and 1930 and I think they're both fucking amazing. I'm planning on grabbing Pulse Demon next.

Oh you'll love the Demon. Don't stare at the artwork for very long. Hahaha....never has artwork and sound so completely fit, imho. Brilliant!
Thanks again for this forum.

Listened to 24 Hours - A Day Of Seals, disc four today. This box is fucking great. Each disc is unique, but discs 3 and 4 stand out.

Pulse Demon is, I think, the most extreme album I currently own.

Pulse Demon is, I think, the most extreme album I currently own. Have you heard Whitehouse king? I thought Merzbow was the most extreme thing in my collection till I heard WH. Check them out, Id recommend Bird Seed for a first listen, thats where I started. Shocking.

I just don't get it. I really like WH. But "most extreme music you will ever hear blah blah blah.. " No, I just don't think so. Fuck yes, Day of Seals is a wonderful collection. Almost as good as the 6cd Houjoue!!!

Almost as good as the 6cd Houjoue!!! I can only speak from a personal perspective. Before I heard WH, Id seen photos of them, couple of normal looking middle aged guys, and then I put Bird Seed on, and it did blow me out the water. As far as extremes go, that is / was up there with the harshest. It depends on your point of view. Things are extreme in different ways to different people. Agreed about Houjoue man, incredible collection. Im kinda working my way through re-listening to my Merz collection. I had Mini Cycle / Yoshino Tamago / Yonos Bigfoot 3' Cd and Age Of 369 on last night........

"Blah blah blah" was not directed at you, Papawas. WH is very powerful, and Mummy And Daddy blows me away. But I never understood that "most extreme" tag.

Anyone heard the Merzbow/Gore Beyond Necropsy collaboration (or is it a split?) "Rectal Anarchy"?

Anyone heard the Merzbow/Gore Beyond Necropsy collaboration (or is it a split?) "Rectal Anarchy"? Yes. I have it....Its pretty brutal and harsh, and as a grind fan I think youd dig it.....A full on 40 odd minute thrash out, followed by lots of shorter tunes......Like grind but with Merzbow instead of drums, to sum it up quickly!?
