Hey guys,
I'm relatively new to the board but not to Merzbow. I'm 17 and got into his music through the Mike Patton collaboration. My collection is so far at a lowly 10 (the most recently acquired being the 24 Hours set). As for Whitehouse, I'm not a big fan of them. Too much of it sounds like the same high-pitch squeak to me with a boring staticy beat over it. Then again, I haven't heard much. Anyhow, a rain storm just started and I think I might pop in A Day Of Seals as a soundtrack. Later.

I saw one half of Whitehouse (Philip Best) as support for Wolf Eyes in Bristol earlier this year. I didn't realise who it was at the time, but I must say I was really intregued. I can't truthfully say I enjoyed it but I couldn't stop listening and watching, which I guess is the reason behind many noise/experimental acts. Draw the audience in, it doesn't matter whether they enjoy it as long as they are captivated by it. Certainly this has been the reason that I'm been interested in experimental art (both sound and visual), I like to be challenged and intregued.
