John Zorn: Tradition and Transgression by John Brackett ISBN: 0253352347 Supposed to be published in hardcover and paperback in January 2009. www.echo.ucla.edu/volume8-issue1/brackett/brackett1.htmlContains an excerpt titled "From the Fantastic to the Dangerously Real: Reading John Zorn's Artwork" A bit "academic" for my preferences but it is published by Indiana University Press. ... On second look it seems less like a bio and more like a collection of academic essays.... DISE (Deciding If Softcover's Enough)

Anyone else read this book? I quite enjoyed it. The combination of the analysis of "Untitled" (solo cello for Joseph Cornell) and the full score of that piece available at the hips road edition website is fantastic.
