Any of you that have attended a Zorn@60 show see any merch for sale? Namely CDs or the Tzadik tshirts that are available on the website?
Shipping and potential customs charges put me off ordering direct!

It's one of the few BOA albums that runs really well as an album itself, rather than just a selection of reworked Masada tunes. It's excellent.

I didn't see Osaka Bondage. Hmmm....
Some things are better left as they are, no?

I wasn't overly convinced by what I saw of The Song Project. Like you said, it may well work better on record, but I just thought it was a little pointless putting lyrics and vocals to tunes that don't necessarily warrant them. Still looking forward to seeing it in London, but I can't help but think that this space on the Zorn@60 shows could have been better utilised.

Who going to Moers ? I go tommorow beacouse i must traveling 1300km special for this Fest. 1300km terrible road in bus... Tomorrow I will go to the Melvins first Residency show (Lysol/Eggnog/Houdini) in Zürich and on Friday morning I´m on the road for 600km to the Festival. Sadly I´m living not on your way, because my home is in southwest of Germany. Melvins gig from yesterday in France - 2h: liveweb.arte.tv/fr/video/The_Melvins_Villette_Sonique_trabendo/I wanted to catch one of these Melvins shows in London later this month, but unfortunately I am not able to now.

Ha!
I dread to think what would have happened if you got your camera out and started snapping him and the musicians!
All the same, sounds like an amazing day.

The whole art gallery concept thing is awesome. Great review as always!
Imagine if you did just get your phone out and start filming with Zorn sitting right next to you! It'd be interesting....

I saw the world premiere of Moondchild and it is a lot of fun to watch live, I'm sure you'd get into it!

Awesome. Yeah, I'm regularly checking YouTube for new footage. I'm very curious as to exactly what The Song Project will have in store - Naked City tunes!

Also, I would love to see Hockey, Cobra and TBOH. As you said, they are certainly pieces that benefit from seeing live I'd imagine. That said, when I'm in the mood I love listening to all the game pieces.

Awesome review! Glad you had a good time. Concert sounds great, making me even more eager for London. I'm curious to see how it's all going to fit in before curfew though - I noticed your durations for the individual concerts. I don't want to miss anything to shoot off for my train home. Even though it's a different bill / running order, it's a lot to cram into one night!

It was up, but not live until 10am or so. Members only booking and general sale tomorrow. I checked the seating plan a few times and seats were going FAST. So, I caved in and got the membership and a ticket. Still worked out around less than the average price of an arena ticket for a rock show, so I thought what the hell. Really looking forward to it!
