There it is, now it's official:
Pat Metheny: Tap: The Book of Angels vol. 20 [#8307] Ever curious, courageous and endlessly creative, virtuoso guitarist and musical mastermind Pat Metheny takes on John Zorn’s Masada songbook to create some of the most soulful and adventurous sounds yet heard in the Book of Angels series. Turn up the volume and revel in the breadth of imagination in these remarkable arrangements featuring Pat on a huge arsenal of instruments, and the powerful Antonio Sanchez on drums. Pat Metheny continues to surprise and experiment with new musical frontiers well into the 21st century. Co-produced with Nonesuch Records, this is a match made in Heaven—essential!

Definitely looking forward to this one. Antonio Sanchez is just ridiculous! This will be a good volume...

Marc Urselli posted on Facebook about recording new Zorn albums with the Nova quartet and the Gnostic preludes trio, but I've read somewhere about four albums to be released already recorded. Any idea about the other two? Mycale is supposed to do another Book of Angels as well. And is anybody else praying for a 20th anniversary Masada ten original records box-set???

One could be with Thurston Moore. www.sonicscoop.com/2013/04/18/session-buzz-whos-recording-in-around-nyc-a-monthly-report-13/

anyone have thoughts on how the Book of Angels 19 (Abraxas) release is? By necessity these days I have to be pickier about my purchases, but I saw them Saturday night and they were pretty goddamned good. Wondering how the album might compare.

It's a great album, and I'd say if you enjoyed them live you'll enjoy this album.

Translation from Le Zornographe's blog...
"Forthcoming in November, three albums by John Zorn. Two in the Composer series: - On the Torment of Saints, the cast of Spells and the Evocation of Spirits. - Shir Hashirim (which should also include The Holy Visions). The third Painkiller: Prophecy Live in Europe.
Reminder: October is scheduled to release third CD Gnostic Trio (Bill Frisell, Kenny Wollesen, Carol Emanuel), In Lambeth - Visions From the Walled Garden of William Blake, with the participation of Ikue Mori. September is "@", the duo John Zorn - Thurston Moore."
Wow, I was not expecting three more releases in November!
