I'd love to see a boxset of the Masada quartet studio albums. A re release of some of Zorn's 1980's tribute work would be cool too... the Sonny Rollins Memorial Quartet... Spy Vs Spy... the Thelonious Monk tribute he did (or was that only the one track... Shuffle Boil?)...

Ha!... the Sonny Rollins Memorial Quartet... I'd love to hear that!
Actually the Sonny Clark set is still in print I think on Black Saint...
It would be nice to get some of the Avant catalogue back in print and of course there is a big demand for the DIW Masada discs...
Shuffle Boil was the ony track on the Thelonius Monk Tribute (but it never made it to the CD edition only the old double vinyl) and there was also one on a Kurt Weill tribute... They'd make good bonus tracks on a "jazz standards" collection... along with the tracks that originally appeared on The Saxophone Sessions (especially Zorn & Lee Konitz)...
I'd like to see Painkillers Rituals on Tzadik... I always seem to lose out when it appears on Ebay

actually, I remember tzadik mentionning they were planning on releasing all ten Masada studio albums in a boxset, with no further information (that was about two years ago). Meanwhile, in France, we have a DMG-like store called Orkhestra, and almost every DIW/Avant discs are in stock : every Masada for sure, Harras, Cobra Tokyo, Signals for Tea (Masada and Steve Beresford), Cross Fire by Music Revelation Ensemble, Berlin Djungle, Minor Swing, every Naked City released on Avant and so on... take a look at www.orkhestra.frWhen I can't wait, I order from them and they are super fast, I always receive my order the very next day (but I live in France...) and the thing is, their prices are quite expensive, rather regular here for such music unfortuately, but for you overseas, it may be much more harmful, not to mention shipping costs.
