Anyone knew this was coming? I didnt! Typical Merzbow, right outta the blue.... MERZBOW - 'Peace For Animals' CD (Quasi Pop) Three long pieces from Akira, full of ice-breaking analogue feedback over dense overdriven textures, pulsing rhythmic background elements and rollercoaster LFO spasms of analogue synth. This is the shining example of the modern “post-analogue-post-laptop era” sound of Merzbow. These compositions are wild at heart, as wild nature is. This hour-long CD is dedicated to wildlife and calls to fight for the animals rights. "Don't send animals to war! Meat is murder! Fur is murder! Peace for Animals!" Limited to 500 copies in a digipak. Ukrainian import.

I agree. It pisses me off that no matter how hard I try, there are always gonna be albums Ill never get, especially the more older and obscure ones, not to even mention his current output......

Once Ecobondage turns up I'm not buying any more Merzbow until after christmas. I think I need to take stock and spend a little time with the CD's I've already got. I'm beginning to loose track of what I do own at the moment.
As a side line I've just notice that Eisturzende Neubauten are in London in May 2008. I'll be there for my yearly jaunt into the big smoke from down here in darkest Somerset.

no, awesome, thanks for the heads up! didn't see it coming, but great to know, as this year has been SLOWW. Where are you guys purchasing it from?
I just bought Electric Dress today - Synth Destruction is much better, but then again the softer mix of Electric Dress makes room for a greater synth focus, so certainly enjoyable in that way (SD is a much more rollicking noise disc, this one is a little lighter)

Or the label itself. Havent ordered yet due to funds, but its only 500 copies so guess I better get on it....

Got this one in the mail today. Only listened to it once, but thus far I like it a lot more than the other recent releases that I've been catching up on (FID, Bloody Sea, Coma Bernices, Zopherus). The last track seemed especially nice on the first spin. Curious to hear what others think.

Apart from Merzbear, I havent heard any of M.A.s 2007 output Im afraid. Too much to keep up with! Concentrated more on older, rarer releases this year, and managed to snare a few gems!

Peace for Animals... not that great - rushed job, just boring. Track 2 is just another Deaf Composition. Track 3 uses material from Bariken in a lifeless sort of way (doesn't breathe new life into the old material). Zophorus is much better. Merzbear is prob my pick of the year however, w Zofffffffff a close second.

Hi! Higanbana is already available. It was released by Vivo Records, who also released Bloody Sea and Coma Berenices (which is my favourite 2007 Merzbow release, so far). There are two short sound samples of the album on the Vivo Website. -> www.vivo.pl/merzbow/merzbow_higanbana.htm

I used to think MA's album and track titles were really cool. Until recently!? Should I be worried?
