For any of you who are interested, my thoughts on the new Filmworks piece have been written up as an Amazon.com review. I was quite unimpressed on first listen while I was doing other things (once I saw the Downtown Music Gallery box, it found its way into my CD player...), but this one has a unique subtlety to it that Zorn so rarely touches on and on deeper examination is quite a lovely record. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ZOVQ9A/

Nice review. I won't get my copy for a week or so, I guess (who put that darned ocean there? ) but I know it's been despatched. In a way, it's good to know that there's a Zorn album tolerant of being put on as background music, although certainly I've found that Invitation to a Suicide tends in that direction.
