The Stone is fucking awesome. I've only been once so far, to see Zorn himself. Where abouts in NJ do you live, robin? I'm up in Morris County. Somerset county...Got to love 287.

I think with the relative value of the dollar and the GBP, you buying the flight in GBP is about the same cost as me buying dinner in NYC in USD... :-(

I'm thinking of taking my jazz combo (4-5 of us) along to see Zorn's improv night on Dec. 30th (or is it 31st?). That should be good fun.
Did anyone see him there last week?

Did anyone get to the "benefit performance" at the Stone tonight (Jan 10)?
I'd bee interested to hear what a Zorn/Reed collaboration sounded/looked like.

I went to the 10 show with Reed, Zorn and Laurie Anderson. It took a little bit but about halfway into the first piece I thought it started to gel. Improv, Zorn wailing away as you'd expect, Reed pounding away on his guitar(s) and Laurie Anderson adding here and there on the electric violin. I imagine the first show was somewhat similar. Curious to see which of the two gets released for the next Stone Benefit CD.
