Just got Cobra 2 CD set (Hatology), the 2002 re-issue.
Now I'm getting ready for The Dreamers, Lucifer, The Stone issue 3 (it's going to be the Zorn/Reed/Anderson gig held at The Stone last january !), a possible new Painkiller, and The Crucible...

The third issue of the stone, via Heung-Heung, tzadik designer :
"Look for the Stone Benefit CD, Volume 3 featuring Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson and John Zorn. It should be ready a few weeks from now. The two sets at The Stone sold out. If you didn't get a chance to go or would like to relive it, here's your chance while supporting an amazing cause. Everything in this package was donated from the music, the recording, manufacturing, design, photos, etc. and every sale really helps."
Regarding the new Painkiller, I'm unable to find the exact quote but the news came from Mick Harris that they were planning on recording a new one last january, so, was it done ? Nothing is sure yet.

No, Mick Harris didnt make it over to NY for the recordings, so any new Painkiller music is on hold for the moment.....Thats according to MH Myspace, anyway...

I know Mick (I do his web stuff, amongst other things). He was supposed to be here (NYC) in January for a Scorn gig and to record a new Painkiller, but he had some health issues that forced him to postpone the trip. The door is still open with Zorn and Laswell and he's hoping to make it out here this year still.

My friend just gave me More News For Lulu..
What a gorgeous album. The playing is so amazingly romantic and tender while being so forward at the same time. Yummy!

What a nice gift! Both volumes of NFL were among some of my most early Zorn purchases and I still return to them regularly. I ended up trying to hunt down all the original compositions in order to compare them to JZ/BF/GL's interpretations.
As there has not (yet) been a reissue from Hat Hut of these albums they now command pretty steep prices. Not as steep as Painkillers Rituals though... I watched a copy of that go for almost $150 on ebay last week.
I'd love to see Tzadik reissue these albums if JZ has the masters - or even bett would be a News for Lulu reunion album.

Ordering from DMG always gives me an excuse to impulse-buy another disc or two since it saves money on shipping to buy more discs at once ;-) I might've gone to tzadik.com and just ordered the BK disc, but I can't get to their site for some reason.

I always buy two discs also. Any more than that though, and the chance of getting busted by Customs over here is alot higher! Strange how Tzadik havent updated their site, but all the new releases are available elsewhere already. You would have though Tzadik would be first and the others follow..... Still, looking forward to checking these out when they do arrive...

Thanks for the hint. I ordered also the new Bar Kokhba today together with Zorns solo album "The Classic Guide to Strategy" and Marc Ribots "Exercises in Futility".
In my mailbox this week:
"Yankees" and "Euclides Nightmare". I like the second album very lot. Previte and Zorn is a great duo.
