It only took two years to sink in. After thinking the record was kind of weak (relative to the usual JZ), all of the sudden, I've spun it twice in a row at work and am wondering how I missed its awesomeness all along.

Great record, along with Nobel Prizewinner (which I like better), but I still don't care much for the non-trio Alhambra ones, save for a few songs on each.

I definitely agree with you since I dug both records and I'm looking forward for some more Rob Burger albums and live shows.

I guess I should try it again since we're seeing Alhambra Trio on the 8th I was never really big on the first couple of albums but I really like the Goddess...

Probably some new stuff coming soonish/eventually since at Rob's last show he played a new Zorn piece that hasn't been released (he said they learned it during soundcheck).

That's good news although I prefer the trio alone rather than with the vibes, guitar or harp like in the Goddess or In search of the Miraculous albums which I enjoyed less.

I love Alhambra Love Songs! Being a Northern CA native and resident, this music really hits home. Mountain View dedicated to Vince Guaraldi! Finally Vince getting some respect and it is coming from downtown NY. Zorn is the man!
I saw a version of the trio with Dunn and Wollenson at Yoshi's SF. Zorn actually sat on the piano bench next to Rob Berger, it was great, plus they played Pacifica, my favorite tune.

"Pacifica", "Benicia" and "Larkspur" are some of the most beautiful songs ever written
