Anyone with any insight about what's coming next in Book Of Angels?
I know that Electric Masada will record, but I don't dare hope for it anytime soon.... Man, a studio-recording of Electric Masada.... That'll make me happy for the rest of my life....
So, any information at all about any upcoming entries?
Thanks....

I the last Zorn list mailing, this was mentioned - In the liner notes of Filmworks XXI, John Zorn writes about Uri Caine and the next CD in the Book of Angels series: "The next CD in the Book of Angels series will be the super band of Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Uri Caine, Greg Cohen and Joey Baron - Wow ! Watch for it in the spring of 2009". Looks good. I am more looking forward to Zorns other adventures now though. Time to get off the Masada train, IMO, no matter how damn good it is!

Thanks for the info! To some extent I agree with you. It's been a lot of Masada recently, but when albums such as Lucifer punches you in your very own existence, you kinda wish for more. And I know, that when Electric Masada records for Masada book two, it'll be something to chew on for a lenghty period of time! Can't wait for The Crucible, though!

I'm waiting for the Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz recording of the Book of Angels.. It's been quite a while since the project started and they performed at The Stone, shanir with Erik Friedlander, Cyro Baptista and one of the Takeshi brothers who plays in Topaz. It should a great adition.. Last week on the concert of Friedlander with Wu Fei in Brooklyn Erik told me that Zorn didn't think it was quite ready yet and he would give it more time before recording it.. There's also the female voices Masada around awaiting to be recorded.. Anyway, I'm also waiting for The Crucible and the next classical record.. I'm not a very big fan of Lovano. Better with John in it..
