Wait, what just happened?! I think I just ordered the box with painting. Man, $295...that's a helluva lot of money... I sure hope it was worth it. Cool man! We expect pics here when you get it!

Eh, so another new Merzbow record. It's called "Somei..." and released by a small label in Greece. "Masami Akita is really one of those people that need no introduction. ‘Somei’ is a 55-minute trip into rhythmic hell, sure to please devoted Merzbow followers as well as bring new members to the ongoing cult of noise that he has built throughout the last 20+ years. Featuring live drums that wouldn’t sound out of place in a grindcore or thrash-jazz album, as well as the obligatory full-on sonic assault, this is Merzbow at his finest and heaviest. Essential." www.lowimpedance.net/releases/122-Somei-MerzbowActually, I'm a little tired of all these drum/noise releases, so I'll hold off on this one for now. Plus that Japanese Birds subscription cost me enough money for this month.

No further information available as far as I know, but Noiseville is going to release another Merzbow LP this year in may.

Another new LP out, seems like a remix project with Racebannon. Never heard of that band before. Here's their myspace site -> www.myspace.com/racebannonrocksMerzbannonWhat do you get when you cross the prolific talents of Japan's 'Godfather of Noise' with the Midwest's genre-defying juggernaut Racebannon? Twelve inches of unrefined fury so severe that bandages and gauze pads should be supplied with each record. Merzbow takes Racebannon's celebrated rock-opera 'Satan's Kickin' Yr Dick In' and reshapes it into twenty minutes of stunning auditory fierceness. Another delicacy for Merzbow and Racebannon fans alike to savor.

Even more new stuff: Russian Label No Music Records has released a new 4-track CD named "Don't steal my goat". I've yet to find a place where I can order this, though. images3.wikia.nocookie.net/merzbow/images/6/62/Don%27t_Steal_My_Goat.JPGThere's also a new 2x7" set out, called Tempi/Matatabi. It comes in one of three different colours and it's limited to 300 copies. As with all recent Merz recordings, this set features Akita on drums. However, contrary to the other albums, the drums on this one were recorded back in 1974. Could be interesting.

Also, according to the dotdotdot website, the drums on the Matatabi 7"s were not recorded in 1974 after all, but more recently. Typo or something I guess!

Hm, that's too bad. Would have been a cool idea, mixing old and new stuff. Oh well...
