It is truly all fucking go. Re Eucalypse, apparently the printers screwed up the printing, so has been delayed for a while.....

Right,
I made a point of making a note of the LP details.
It's gonna be called Protean World and released in a 1000 run. It can supposedly be pre-ordered from noiseville.com. However, when I looked there was no sign of it.
over and out

Bummer about Eucalypse. I think I might email them.

MERZBOW - "Anicca" The first track on Merzbow's latest opus was recorded at Tin Pan Alley studios, London, on 20th April 2008 - the day after his momentous performance at ULU. Akita created an astounding and very unique 20-minute track, playing freestyle drums over his trademark noise. The final 2 tracks were created at Munemi House in Tokyo. Another fine example of why Merzbow is the undisputed King of Japanese Noise! 58 minutes in total. PRE-ORDERS BEGIN 15th SEPTEMBER! SHIPS 20th SEPTEMBER! ....looks WIN.

The cover art for Anicca looks nice. I'm curious about how the record will sound compared to Arijigoku. Also, there will be a 2-CD collaboration album by Merzbow and Richard Pinhas released at the end of September. It's called Keio Line. www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2778974www.cuneiformrecords.com/bandshtml/pinhas.htmlThere's also a sound sample on the Cuneiform Records page, which sounds quite beautiful.

The Essence Music website also lists a new Merzbow album called "Camouflage" under upcoming releases. Sha Mo 3000, which was also released by Essence, is one of my favourite Merzbow CD's. Maybe this one has a similar psychedelic flair. www.essence-music.com/

We have had this discussion many times before, and while others may disagree, Id say go for Amlux, 1930 or Pulse Demon. All are pretty easy to get hold of too. Please let us know your thoughts!

Thanks for the info regarding the Rainbow Electronics 2 re-release! Now I'm really glad that I didn't buy it on Ebay so far. Any recomendation to start with Merzbow? I only have Merzdub (being a Jamie Saft fan) and i don't know wich one should go next.. Something affordable would be welcomed. Thanks! One of my pals got into Merzbow thanks to 1930 and Merzzow, so I'd recommend those two. If you're interested in his really harsh, mid-90's stuff, then you should buy some of the Relapse releases (Pulse Demon, Venereology...). If you're more interested in his laptop work, then I'd recommend Frog, Puroland or Amlux.
