Basquiat Strings with Seb Rochford - very interesting so far (I'm just three tracks into it). It contains a cover of Ornette Coleman's Lonely Woman further down the track list - makes me curious!

Listening to the Masada shows from Rome in June, all shuffled together... blissful Such nice recordings, I'm so happy they put them all on the radio.

live bootlegs: Polar Bear at Spitz, London, 2004 - I really like Polar Bear, inventive melodies and a nice melancholy feel about much of the material. Haven't gotten to listen to the whole set yet, but seems great. Tomasz Stanko's Balladyna in Aarhus, 2007 (w Tim Berne) - Don't know if Berne and Stanko have collaborated before(?), but the idea made me intrigued (Berne is a favourite of mine and Stanko's From the Green Hill is a masterpiece in my opinion).

I don't think I've ever listened to this album enough. I've been really concentrating and enjoying Shorter's performance on the album today. His soprano sax sounds divine. I've never really concentrated on that aspect of it before.

Listening to Cuong Vu, live at Tonic 28th May 2000 (thanks to dimeadozen.org). With Jamie Saft, Stomu Takeishi, Jim Black. I haven't listened to Cuong Vu before, but sounds awesome. Really twisted funky grooves, great unpredictability and cool improvisations. Will try to dig deeper into his catalogue, any recommendations?
