I joined today, too.
This forum is a great initiative!
I've recently discovered Olivier Messiaen, listening to various organ works and the Quartet for the end of time.
Also,
I've been really into Berne lately, most recently: Hard Cell - Feign Tim Berne/Science Friction - The Sublime and
Critical Mass and various recent live bootlegs with the Dave Holland quintet have gotten some listens too.
And other stuff: Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul Amon Tobin - Out from out where Eric Dolphy - Outward Bound

The only Berne + related stuff I have is his Big Satan, a radio broadcast live in London, which is incredible. That and Spy vs Spy, but thats doesnt count right? Oh, listened to this afternoon - KOBY ISRAELITE - Orobas:Book Of Angels Volume 4 DIZZEE RASCAL - Maths + English

On the pile next to the stereo:
- KK Null, "Kosmista Noisea" - Ellington/Mingus/Roach, "Money Jungle" - Barebones, "Back In Your Black" - Crossbred, "Dead In Her Drum's Rhythm" - Haco, "Riska" - Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, "Spaceship Zero" - Lady Saw, "Walk Out" - DJ Baku, "Hybrid B-Boy Killa Cuts" (the first half is pretty decent, and then he drags out the Missy Elliott and the TLC and it all goes clichéd) - The The, "Live in New York" - Acid Eater, "Virulent Fuzz Punk A.C.I.D." - Current 93, "Black Ships Ate the Sky"
Not having to work much last week let me throw on a lot more music than usual.

Welcome too! On the subject of Tim Berne, I keep meaning to pick up more of his work. The only Berne + related stuff I have is his Big Satan, a radio broadcast live in London, which is incredible. I think I've got that London show as well and it's stellar. The Science Friction band is a fantastic starter, particularly the live double cd "The Sublime and", and the Big Satan record on W&W is also highly recommended. But if there's one Berne project that i really like, that's Bloodcount. I would definitely start with the Screwgun releases. All of them are essential.
