1930 is very much a composition. It has far more structure and form than many other noise CD's. This is such a good example of why Masami is so regarded within the noise community.
I have to say in the great scheme of things 1930 isn't particularly challenging, not when compared with say Batztoutai With Material Gadgets or Akasha Gulva, however, they are well worth getting hold of. Batztoutai is still available and should definitely grace any Merzbow fans shelf, Akasha is a lot harder to get hold of and in my opinion should be probably just outside the top ten of Merzbow CD's. Probably no 11 or something. It is incredibly harsh stuff (but great fun to listen to and to frighten the neighbours with).
I don't have any Merzbow on order at the moment, however, I've just picked up C.C.C.C - Early Works. I haven't had a listen yet but it's a very nicely put together package. At the same time I also picked up Runselstirn and Gurglestock - Recycled cassette from RRRecords in the US, I have listened to that and once again the recycled series has come up trumps.

I havent got any on the way either....Last month was a heavy Merzbow month. I got Green Wheels, New Takamagahara, Electric Salad and Ecobondage. I need to stop for a while now, simply because I cant afford it!.....That and the fact I buy other musics.....

Akasha Gulva is #1 to my poor abused ears. It literally made me puke when I first heard it. I'm still afraid of it. And in absolute submission to it. Hahahahaha......

I've just managed to bag Ecobondage on Ebay (as long as it turns up). Paid well over the odds but hell I can't wait to get it. It's one of my most wanted Merzbow CD's. I've been after this from the very beginning when my brother sent me a copy of a god damn awefull noise which after many listens turned into the beauty that is Merzbow's Scumtron. If you haven't heard Scumtron it's a CD of remixes of Merzbow material by others, It's well worth a listen. It's also got two tracks by Merzbow on it as well. Autechre do their version of Ecobondage (ending).

Truly unique, entertaining, and original.......

I've just picked up Rainbow Electronics. I guess some guy in Japan has recently found a box of them or something. Still waiting for it to turn up. I noticed that someone was flogging Hole recently, it didn't seem in good condition though so I didn't even bother. It would have probably gone to high for me anyway.

Thench I did exactly the same.....and bought Tentacle from him too. I think he works for Alchemy Records, or has something to do with them at least...... They came really quick, youll get them soon, cos mine only took a week tops from Japan.....

Yea I saw that he was also doing Tenticle. Made me laugh that he advertised it as bland new, not many Merzbow CD's are described as bland!!!
Thinking of taking my MP3 player to the Merzbow gig in Bristol to capture it for posterity.
