Yeah, I was tempted by these. Especially Ornette! I have three other shows in June though, ( including Zorn at Equinox! ), so I just can't afford it. Of all of Meltdown, I would want to see Ornette over all of the other acts....

Hopefully I can go! Erik Friedlander is in Saalfelden too (solo & Broken Arm Trio). Other groups are not announced yet. www.jazzsaalfelden.com/2009/ViewPage.asp?Site=JAZZ-SAALFELDEN09&PageID=177&lang=199

Apparently there's a big interview with Marc Ribot in the summer 2009 issue of "Fretboard Journal"... not sure where to get a copy, although there is a way to order back issues on their website so maybe in a couple of months it will be available there: www.fretboardjournal.com/current_issue/

Oh, I guess I didn't scroll down far enough! I'm still going to look and see if I can find it locally... if not I will order it there. Thanks.
ETA: They had it at the Borders near my office so I guess it is pretty easy to find. It has a 12-page segment on Ribot with a lot of photos. It cost $12.95 so the website is not a bad deal at all if that price includes shipping...

Nice video.. thanks!
Glad you'll get to see one of the shows... a friend of mine saw the show in Prague last night (I guess for you it's two nights ago) and it sounds like they are in top form.

Any reports back from the shows? :-) unfocused Paris show report...Second time I've seen Ceramic Dog, first time was as a trio. The gal (ester?) is a nice addition and fits in well switching from melodica, violin, fake organ and vocals. She did miss a few cues from Ribot which seemed to annoy him. They opened with a Gainsbourg chanson and then did a good 10 minutes of noise then played a bunch of other songs, most of which I didn't recognize from the cd (cd's) except two. The first being the one where Shazad plays the moog and does his weird arm dance thing. at one point during that song Ches stopped playing, put one foot on his kick drum and just stared at Shazad. Ches also had problems with his electronic drum pad and would sometimes stop playing drums and mess with the wires and blow into it. He eventually got sick of it and threw it in Shazad's general direction. Later in the show Ches tried to get it to work again with no success. Shazad had his drum's set up but never even touched them as far as I saw. They also played the Doors cover, unexpected. I took a couple pictures, let me see if I feel like uploading them somewhere.
