The correct question is "how many shows are you seeing"... ;-)

www.nofunfest.com/2008.htmlI only went on Friday, and only got to see three acts though (needed to catch the last train back to NJ). Sickness was on first, and it was fucking insane. This was before I got a hold of some ear plugs, and I was right up front. Fucking violent and fucking loud. Really awesome. Then I went outside with my mate and we got some dinner and let our ears calm down. Then headed back in to get some ear plugs and watched Dinosaurs with Horns, which was pretty cool. Some strange beats/electronic stuff getting mangled with short jabs of noise and spastic noise-guitar improv. Last thing I saw was Thurston Moore + Nancy Garcia, which was bloody weird. Nancy Garcia is a rather attractive woman, with crazy hair... and intense vocals/guitar playing style. She also took to the drumset for a short while. Their set consisted of lots of wall-of-sound guitar noise with child-like shouting/whining/singing vocals... got very loud towards the end. All in all really enjoyable, although I'm a tad disappointed I didn't get to see Astro or Tony Conrad. Both of whom were towards the end of the show after the last train had departed.

This weekend I'll be heading down to NYC and seeing Ceramic Dog at the Stone... which I am super excited about. And a few days later I've got a ticket to see Cosa Brava at the ICA here in Boston. Good week for concerts :-)

ZENI GEVA will play some shows in Europe (April 2009) with Tatsuya Yoshida on drums. YEAH! I go to the gig in Basel, canĀ“t wait to see the trio first time live. Dates are here: www.myspace.com/zenigevaOther concerts I will go after Zorn in Paris&Porto are 2 Foot Yards, Gutbucket, Omar Rodriguez Qintet and Marc Ribot solo (March / Switzerland). Looks like a great month for my ears!

I saw this on the No Fun site a while back, looks like a great weekend. Sonic Youth are there on one night too, aren't they? Have a good time, man. Reports and pics if possible!

Yeah, Sonic Youth are playing Saturday night. Three day passes and saturday night tickets sold out ridiculously quickly.
And yeah, really psyched for the Merzbow set. Dont' know how I"m going to get home, but I"m not missing the Merzbow set for the sake of a train.
