I've just listened to it once and it's AMAZING.. It's just GREAT, I can't say anything else.. My favourite of the Moonchild trio was Astronome til now, Zorn's sax on this one is simply stunning and Trevor Dunn is all over the place.. It's going to stay on my record player for a long time.
On previous installments of the Moonchild trio there was always an announcement of the next one, but not on this one.. It's a shame, considering their reaching new heights. Maybe it's the last one, they go away in a blast...

I second that. The Crucible is just flabbergasting. The heart of the album (tracks 5 & 6 : Hobgoblin/Incubi) is just among Zorn's best ! Incubi contains perhaps one of Zorn's best alto sax solo. Again... Hobgoblin and Incubi are TERRIFIC !

On track 3 Patton seems to actually pronounce words, I can hear "went through the first gate" and I'm sure there's more to it. Anyone understand it all?
